I purchased my 2008 XLR-V in Penn. Last year. Upon arriving in my home state of WISC. I registered it with the DVM .Paid the taxes , title change and tag. My problem is with the title. Both the previous owner and I failed to enter the mileage on the transfer form ( Really excited about buying this machine over looked the small area.) The DMV clerk brought it to my attention -= I offered to go to the car and get the odometer reading ( after waiting in line for 45 min.) She said It wasn't necessary - what did I think it was ? Now let me tell you that the car was advertised as under 34,000 miles . I checked Carfax - got all the records plus the accumulated miles ( 33,808 ) . The title was issued to me as not actual mile. Didn't phase me until I went too have a safety recall performed.( illuminated Air Bag light on the dash) This is where it gets touchy - according to GM my title was "BRANDED"( Thanks WISC) thus rendering as scrap .
Now do you think that grown would cry ??? Tried to no avail to correct this situation . According to the DMV in WISC. once the mileage is written on the title (even thou again not the actual miles )it can not be changed. Thanks WISC.
