I have a 2008 xlr with 61k miles on it. The engine light went on in November, the mechanic reset something (computer?) but the issue and light have come back (loss of power). Mechanic says its either a crack in something in the transmission (which aren’t made anymore) and/or it’s the “lean condition” code. Anyone experience this who can advise?

I'd strongly suggest a new mechanic. (S)he may be right, but that sounds sketchy and too vague. Maybe someone in the SM, CA area can recommend a known-good dealership / technician? Do you have any paperwork on what was done before with some more detail we could consider?

By all means get the error codes and post here again.

almost any auto parts store can do a reading of the codes on the car. They usually will not erase them btu can read usually for free. If we have the code we can point you in the right direction
