My XLR/V(s)
2004 XLR 2008 DTS 2006 STS Performance 2002 STS
sometimes when I want to put the top or down the trunk lid
opens a couple of inches and the slams shut and "bong" sounds,
I then just push the button again and usually it opens or do this
one or two times before completing close/open cycle.
This also happens when I open the trunk from the remote
or button, opens a couple of inches and then slams shut,
push again and it works...kind of annoying
Tech 2 sometimes show a b1297 but not always-
Im thinking a bad trunk pos sensor...any Ideas?

Thanks

Hi, mine does exactly the same thing. Tech 11 showed B1297. So I ordered the senser, does not fit in the assembly ? Took the assembly apart & found the small motor operating the worm gear would not release the trunk lid. How did you fix yours?

B1297 - Valve 4 Control
3. Power folding top does not open or complete the top opening procedure
4. Power folding top does not close or complete the top closing procedure
5. Rear Compartment lid will not open

Check the hydraulic fluid level, try a top re-learn with the tech II.

The top does funny things when you need a re-learn. First place I would always start after verifying enough fluid.

As CC has said in the past, it's a good idea to write down your sensor numbers after doing a re-learn, then you can compare whenever you have problems in the future to help track down what sensor exactly is becoming erratic or failing.
