by the way it my wie's xlr, although she has a heavier foot than i, the car was never abused. Maybe living above the mason dixon line, the aluminum couldn't handle the shrinking and expansion. I got to at least drive a great car for 13 years but it cost me 72K to do it. I swore i wouldn't own...
As i said we came home from a vacation and found coolant under the car. No one was driving the car. Car was under warranty at the time dealer came and picked it up. That was about 2006 or 7. The head gaskets went June of 2017. Don't think it is related. Then the next radiator went about...
Mine had 3 radiators over it's life with me. None of the failures were around that date the heads went. We came home from vacation once and had coolant on the floor, no one had driven the car. After the heads went we lost a radiator with a crack on the driver's side tank. Loved the car...
i can only tell you my 2005 blew both sides at 98K miles. The first sign to me should have been them sending me the postcards to extend my warranty. I didn't take them up on it. I believed in GM. Big mistake. Don't know who has the piece of junk now.
thanks
First, thanks for responding, for many reasons. the site says i can't post, and they even send me emails i haven't been on in awhile. Frustrating, Even got an email last night. Back to the car, Looking at the manual, it appears there was 2 different head bolts used, 2 different...
very disappointed as well
I have a 05 with less than 100K on and my mechanic says the head bolts have let the heads move away and let the coolant escape. Am i one of the 1%? Very interested in anyone else's ideas. I am about 3 weeks away from ordering a rebuilt motor from GM. It only...
just wondering if this how the head gasket, stretched head bolts go. K seal worked last summer for a short time. Leak came back. radiator went again last month, crack in drivers side top. Second radiator for this car. Using about 8 oz of coolant now every 64 miles, 2 days of riding to work...
My misfire cylinder 6 and cylinder 7 was related to using coolant. Used K-seal to stop the bleeding. I hear $3500 motor rebuild is necessary to fix. I guess she goes to the junk yard with my Cadillac ETC that used a quart of oil a week. When will the learn to build engines?
