For winter storage I over inflate the tires to the max pressure rating (45psi in my case) to help prevent flat spots. Full clean and detail. Run the tank down to 1/4 then add SeaFoam and fill. Oil change. Store with windows up and covered. I connect the Battery Minder and leave the hood...
I use a batteryminder with no issues from the special cycles for years and leave the battery connected. I hook it up and forget it. I periodically look to see if the lights are on on the minder.
After not having a battery connected for weeks while mine was in the body shop the roof or radio...
I finally got around to being able to answer the question about the Mild2Wild manual exhaust control for V series exhaust draining the battery. These are measurements from my 2008. YMMV
It made no difference at any time what mode the system was left in at shut down.
There were 2 changes...
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'm asking about the feasibility of changing to the mesh grill on the die-cast model to match the one Cadillac installed on my car at the factory.
MILD 2 WILD XLR Version
It provides wireless manual control of the vacuum operated muffler baffle on V models. I like mine and run in the open mode most all of the time. it is safe as it is no different than the factory operation except it is on all the time rather than just under a heavy...
The initial connection is less than the 10 amps most meters will handle. I've done it many times without a shunt and have never blown the fuse in the meter. FWIW, my measured current is initially around 7 amps fluctuating for a few seconds, then goes down to about 4.33A. After a few minutes...
After some prodding I've made the decision to show my car this year at an indoor show at the Cincinnati Convention Center. This is a step up from your summer outdoor shows. This brings up a need for a small info sign. I know some others have discussed it before, but I'm asking if you could...
Both the base models and the V models use the same lug stud and have the same part number, 9595682. The size is M12 X 1.5. The bolt hole pattern and hub diameters are also the same and the hubs carry the same part number 88967287. The stock wheels are interchangeable, no doubt.
Yes, many...
Some older tints contained metal which could effect some electronics. It may be still available or used, but the tint people I work with don't use it anymore. If you stay away from any metal film it will not effect the electronics.
I disagree that the wheels are hubcentric. The hubs are the same as the C6 Corvette which are also lug centric. Think about it, our lug nuts have tapered seat which is used to locate the wheel. If it located on the hub then the taper would not be there. Also there is a running clearance...
I investigated the wiring diagrams and what you say makes sense.
I suppose the Mild2Wild could cause more drain since it is wired to a hot at all times line and it obviously uses some power to communicate with the fob. I don't think it would matter which mode it was left in since it interrupts...
It was an AHA moment for me as well when I discovered I could not leave the fob in my bedroom.
Another one of those little quirks that we need to learn as XLR owners. Maybe we should start a wiki/thread with things like this. Other things could be the indexing the windows and the infamous...
I leave my Mild3Wild in the open position for extended periods with no issues. I doubt seriously that is your issue.
I do know that having a fob within 20 feet of the car will drain the battery PDQ. I have a yellow Optima and think it is the best fit for our cars, others may disagree. I...
There have been some that have "upgraded" to the later style of fob. I saw someone selling the case only for this rectangular style fob at a much cheaper price You may want to consider that. An advantage is that the emergency key resides in the fob.
+1 I'm not a fan of two tone XLRs either. Two tone is OK on some cars, but not with our "edgy" look. It was discussed briefly with my painter in the beginning of the planning stages.
Can't really say, I've never used either. I've not had the problem, but do use Sea Foam. Can't say it has had an effect or not. It is hard to argue with the success others have had with Techron.
