    Rear strut

Do these have the same electrical connection as the stock shocks? You'd certainly get "Service Stabilitrack" errors unless they do.

    Help! Corsa Exhaust

There is a plugged vacuum nipple at te back of the base engines. I took the plug out and ran a line to the M2W switch.

    Help! Corsa Exhaust

I'm not sure about the entire V exhaust system being a direct bolt-on replacement. I only used the mufflers, which fit perfectly and easily. I got the "mild to wild" switch/hardware from Sunset Orange Creations. It can be turned on/off with a remote, by sensing RPM, or by a switch on the DIC...

    Help! Corsa Exhaust

I put an XLR-V exhaust on my base 04 and added the "mild to wild" switch. It's quiet when I want it to be, and has a nice rumble when I want it! I only added the mufflers; it was a 30 minute install. :rocker: I bought them on eBay - used - very inexpensively!

    Daily Chat

There used to be similar rides at some of the ski areas in Vermont (close to where I grew up). They were a BLAST! They had a joystick to control it; the neutral position put you on teflon runners. You went on roller skate-type wheels when you pushed down, and you applied the brake when you...

    Rear-End Lube

I also gave the parts guy the part number (at the Cadillac dealer; the Chevy guy was compliant!). I do plan on doing it myself; it's pretty straightforward. Open the fill port first (you don't want to drain it without being SURE you can refill it!), replace the fill port plug finger tight...

    Rear-End Lube

I went to my local Cadillac dealer last week to get new fluid for my car's rear end. The parts guy gave me 2 quarts of 75W90 Gear oil. When I asked about any friction modifier for the limited slip, he said I didn't need it. When I asked if this was indeed the correct item for the part number...

    Top noise

The seals are probably not compressed too much, and the pins shouldn't need lubrication. The seals and weatherstripping could probably use a little cleaning and lubrication. And there are a LOT of seals on the car- the doors, the roof, the frameless windows, the trunk, and even the hood...

crimson red paint scuff marks and light scratches - collector status

Though I love my (2004 base) XLR, I have no fantasies about it being a collector's car. There were "too many" base models made. A collectible (and probably valuable in the future) XLR would be one of the 2009's or a V model, since they were significantly smaller production volumes. Just think...

    Removing the roof

That's an interesting idea. The weather where I'm at would never allow it! It would probably work as long as you only removed the physical panels for the top-leave all the hardware and wiring in place, since it won't occupy much space anyway. You probably can't take too much of the other...

    XM Stereo Question

The other telltale sign that the car has XM was the "wart" antenna on the trunk. I think you just need the module to get your radio to recognize XM; the analog to digital change was for OnStar only (I had that done, but have since quit the OnStar program). It should be easy to add, if you can...

    2005 Wood Dash

Chiming in! The A/C control faceplate is indeed shaped slightly different on the XLR's with an aluminum faceplate versus the wood faceplate, but the guts are perfectly interchangeable. I got an 06 eucalyptus faceplate and an 06 AC control and swapped the guts out with my original AC...

    Montana Spring drive 2013

Like everyone else, I'm very happy to hear of your recovery. It's a long and slow process, but it sounds like, all in all, you're doing great. Keep up the healing, keep your heads up high (that included Cindy :)), and keep your spirits up-Rod's Rocket Run will wait for us, and we'll be happy...
