Now that winter is over, we have had the top up and down, and now there is a lot of squeaking noise in the up position:confused:. It's driving us nuts. Am wondering if the sealing rubber strips have compressed to where they are allowing too much movement, or if the pins that retain in the windshield frame could use lubrication. Any ideas?

The seals are probably not compressed too much, and the pins shouldn't need lubrication. The seals and weatherstripping could probably use a little cleaning and lubrication. And there are a LOT of seals on the car- the doors, the roof, the frameless windows, the trunk, and even the hood!

Springtime is a good time (and fall as well) to clean the seals (ALL of them) and lubricate them with your favorite goo. Most people like silicone in some form or fashion, but that's a topic covered on another thread. I put some on a rag to clean the seals and wipe a fresh coat on with a clean rag.

You'll have to put the top up halfway to get to the seals "back there", but your squeaks will be gone! And clean, lubricated seals and weatherstripping will last a long time.

Re: top noise

Maybe I used the wrong terminology, the top creaks with movement while driving. I am going to try your recommendation , but movement really causes noise

No top noise!

Ok, I went out and raised the top to where I could get at everything, wiped down all the rubbers with a rag and clean water, then carefully used spray silicone on all metal parts that could be the source, and have driven over 30 miles and the problem seems to be gone. Only a little noise when leaving but NONE since, Hopefully that was the problem, will post if it comes back, Thanks for input
