Stay away from Sterling McCall. They kept my 06 for a year and I got it back in worse shape than when I took it in for a steering gear problem. My advice? Stay away from the XLR. No major or minor new parts available anymore. Hardly anyone that knows how they work.
Here's the manual online that I used. To get the most out of the scanner, you'll need the XLR Service manuals or a subscription to an online manual service to check the code's meaning.
Be careful. Fiddling around with the settings can kill your car
I see the Bulgari fobs every so often on Ebay, most of them used. You can also get the newer fob that's used by the 2008/2009 cars and they will program perfectly. I know, I have 2 of them. Have your real key cut to the included key with the fob and you'll always have a key to manually unlock...
FWIW. I bought a TECH II from DHGate several years ago. Complete kit including CANDI module. It would not work properly without that module inline with the cables. Paid around $400 for it including shipping and the PCM/CIA software card. It only had GM vehicles up to 2013 but that made no...
Unless MickyTee has some "clean" modules, you're pretty much out of luck unless you find one on eBay.
Read my story of my XLR in David Taylor/Sterling McCall dealership in Houston. They had it for a year for an initial complaint of a bad steering rack. It's a garage queen now, I drive it every...
There's no GM part number. They expect you to purchase the entire shift cable assembly. O'Reilly and others have an assortment of bushings. You pick out the correct size by eyeballing the old one
Welcome to XLR ownership. Everything you've ranted about has been done before, ad infinitum.
Those bushings have been used on just about every auto out there, foreign and domestic for years. Nothing new
Yes, there's a pin that should be there and more than likely it's been broken off and in the bottom of the console now. It's part of the mechanism that allows the one touch open and closing of the lid. Mine was broken off when I bought our X. There's no replacement parts available that I know...
Thank your lucky stars they were honest with you. David Taylor/Sterling McCall kept my 06 for a year and I got it back in worse shape than I had left it.
The car spent a year, yes a year, at David Taylor/Sterling McCall Cadillac in Houston. During that time I went through 3 different service managers, none of whom knew right from left, and a couple just plain liars. It took an email to the head dick to get any responses, and a couple of days...
