I agree with you, Cubby - I wasn't implying that its the same "american built". I have always owned AMERICAN cars - generally GM's (admitting, I don't always look to see where the car is "manufactured"). Its nice to know the XLR is all American. :)
Honda Odysseye is built in Alabama, USA - even exported to 3 or 4 other countries. I'm sure the people of Alabama appreciate your mom buying an Odysseye.
Fred,
I'm with you - I don't like having my windows up with the top down (don't like the look at all). I admit, I have done it on a rare instance if I get a phone call - that I can't ignore, and need to talk while driving with the top down. One nice feature I saw on the new C7 Convertible...
Very interesting reading (the comments on the Ebay listing) ... very little of what he says, appear to be actual facts (as far as I know)... ok, the engine is hand built - that one I'll give him.
Actually (now don't hate me folks) - I don't mind the look of the CTS vents on this XLR - much...
I received an email from a guy that installed a back-up cam on his '05 XLR (using a rearview mirror from a CTS - compass, OnStar and back-up LCD screen).
Cadillac XLR Backup Camera</SPAN>
It is possible to install a backup camera in an XLR and have a look factory. I installed one in my 2005...
Mike - I wonder if you did a search of '07 base vs '07 V series shocks, if it would be the same? Maybe the shocks were upgraded between '05 and '07 for all XLR's? Just a thought. Thanks for looking at that, though. :dunno:
I cannot speak for a V Series - my '05 Base has 4 shocks ... I believe the suspension is basically the same (4 shocks also) for a V series and base model XLR. (not sure who you were directing your question to :dunno:)
Dan - are you part of an Allante/XLR chapter as well? I had joined the Cadillac/LaSalle Club last year - because it was required to join the Allante/XLR Chapter ...
just about every "Topless" newletter (for Allante/XLR club) that came out was 95% Allante... not much XLR information at all. I...
Just for point of discussion ... the XLR does not have STRUTS ... they have (4) Shocks.
Bruce replaced all 4 shocks (OEM shocks) on my XLR last fall - really made a difference... but with 170,000+ miles on it, I'm sure it really needed a new set.
Shirts
I would be more than happy to work on putting something together for shirts - there is plenty of time to work on this (all summer) :)
I will take a look at the place that I purchased shirts from in the past - I will look for a high quality shirt and then I will see what kind of price I...
As many forum folks know - my Corsa exhaust is my FAVORITE upgrade... so much so, that when I picked up a 2007 SRX last fall, I quickly upgraded the exhaust to a Corsa (I have the V8 Northstar SRX) - so I don't have to go all winter without hearing that beautiful "rumble" when sitting at a...
Amy, it sure would be nice to see both, yours and Mike's XLR's... Many of us have not seen his V yet (but would love to see your beauty again too!). Hope you can bring both X's!
Probably not too many chances to have both your cars in Bowling Green together (photo ops galore!) :D...
Hotel Reservations made!
OK, I have made my hotel reservations for Friday night and Saturday night. I plan on arriving LATE on Friday (leaving after work - since it is month end). I am staying at the Marriot Courtyard (since I have plenty of Marriot Rewards points, isn't costing me anything -...
OK, so I hope everyone doesn't mind me starting a new thread on this event... but here it is.
So the date is pretty much set (thanks to Dave's car show at the plant).
At this point, any information that needs to be communicated out can be posted here. Keep in mind, folks, that this event is...
I agree with you Cubby - we all need to realize/remember that the XLR is a discontinued model, we will never get the same attention/turnout that Corvette club get (Corvettes have quite a CULT following - and are alive and well). For us XLR owners, we basically are a group of owners that enjoy...
Looks like I am changing my plans to make sure I can make it down to Dave Chrisley's Car Show. What a great opportunity to actually be able to SHOW my XLR at the actual PLANT that built 'er.
Unfortunately because of this weekend being at the end of the month, I will not be able to add...
