I don't think it would be a good idea. The V uses a different block. It is 4.4 liters, not 4.6 liters, with the webbing strengthened between cylinders to accommodate the extra pressures. They are also assembled at a different line/location, to insure adherance to specifications. I don't think...

I can't imagine why an alternator would require water cooling. We've used alternators on race cars at high revolutions for decades! Frequently to cut down stress, a larger pully is needed, but liquid cooling..............egad!

"Generator coolant oulet" seems strange, no return to the coolant system and what is the function of the "generator"?

My question is, how prevalent is this failure of our cooling systems? Any one else have this happen? If it is prevalent, I doubt GM has enough stocked NOS radiators!!!

Change my own oil I have always changed my oil on my cars and motorcycles. I generally use a better grade of oil and filter than the various dealers/garages do. And I enjoy doing it!!!

I believe, the knock sensors between the cylinders will cause the system to reduce the spark advance to compensate and eliminate the knock. Of course you will lose horsepower which is something you don't use day to day anyway.

CC, what is the best way to remove the vertical bezzel to get at the vents? Does the lower (horizontal) one need to be removed first to get the vertical one loose? Forwarned is forarmed! ha Thanks, Rusty
