That's what I'm gonna need to do eventually!
I've had an indy shop gut the cat convertors since they were clogged and creating a rattling noise on acceleration. I still have the rattling noise which is extremely annoying.
What are best choices in terms of going with after market headers?
Parts are here, finally!
Will take it to my mechanic soon, not soon enough. Will report back any updates. Can't wait to feel that cold breeze coming out of the A/C.
I'm actually considering a replacement myself, due to the same issue. Mirror is loose at the adjusting joint, not the windshield contact area. There are 4 tabs that can easily break off, and I've already lost two there.
Is there a brand that would be compatible with the OEM 16-pin connector...
Thanks for your extensive feedback, I appreciate it.
I don't plan on doing the AC work myself as I don't have enough experience/knowledge to tackle it. However I know a decent garage who only works on Corvettes, and has restored an XLR before so they do the heavy lifting.
L.T.S has been of...
I would like to replace the whole A/C system, so appreciate your feedback for the parts required for the job.
I've done some digging, but just want to ensure I have everything since this will be internationally shipped.
Hope this list also helps anyone who wants to undertake this project in...
Hey LTS!
Had to put this on the back burner and use my Mercedes for the time being.
However, the issue is still a malfunctioning A/C. It seems that any pressure put on the engine would cut off the compressor from sending cold air. I'm not sure if this had to do with directly linking the...
Correct, the wiring was culprit and now the sensor works fine.
The AC still only cooling properly when the RPM's go above 2k, which seems to point to a bad compressor. New compressor around $400?
An update:
So I took the car to a reputable corvette technician. They were able to get the outside ambient air temperature sensor to read correctly, finally. They used a jumper in the main fuse box so that the HVAC gets a direct signal from the sensor upfront. This was the only way the sensor...
While looking at the horn harness to make sure the 10mm bolt had clean contact to ground, I realized that my skid plate must've been hit before by the previous owner. I can see cracked joints where it is actually held to the chassis (underneath and surrounding the main radiator).
Now the real...
Can someone please help me narrow down ground circuits involved with the outside air temperature sensor?
It is now constantly reading 75F, or 24C all the time!!
Therefore not cooling when the actual outside temp is 43C!!!
I would appreciate any input on this as I can't find where the issue...
So happy with everyone's input on the forum, thanks fellas. Figured I run this through you guys as well, as it has me scratching my head. Any help would be so much appreciated. It gets to 47 degrees Celsius over here and it really is a Sauna with a Supercharger on it.
Here's the situation:
The...
Attached are the screenshots to the tool I'm using. The Launch X431 connector only and Diagzone on an Android, loaded with GM Tech2 v.48.05
Would there be another way to get to do the re-learn process?
Hey Rexster,
That's awesome! Thank you. Unfortunately my device doesn't have a soft "learn key", as per your manual. I'll share my FSM and some screenshots of the tool tonight.
Hey all,
Can someone identify this for me?
I was going through the bay and detailing the supercharger when I realized the mess I found.
It seems like 2 lines are broken. What is this bypass valve for? Any ideas for a fix?
I had an interior/exterior steam and polish done today. The car feels and smells brand new. Figured out the paint is in too bad of a condition to leave it alone. Thinking of getting a military green wrap or some sort of black vinyl... Not now. Sometime after it's mechanically sound.
Going to...
