Trunk Lid Bushing
I have not pursued getting harder rubber. I could get 2 made at a local Industrial Rubber Lining shop where they rubber line pressure vessels etc. YOu could improvise with first drilling then carving one out of a Hockey Puck or other hard rubber like motor mounts. Glue...
CD Fubar and more
Well after much much beer and swearing I managed to get the unit back together with a CD inserted just flush with opening to stop the continual eject effort. Great difficulty getting the vehicle to start even with booster and charger connected.
When it finally started after...
CD recap
Well, I would not say that the operation went well but it went. Ring would not come off gear shift knob using Trim Tools. Had to work with console still attached but loose and shifter back in drive. Well padded cover over it. Some difficulty removing the CD from Radio and lots...
CD unit trim removal
Thanks CC and Rexter.
I have watched an Utube video on the XLR trim removal and will acquire the Trim Removal Tools. Infotainment Trim. 00000OOOOOO new big word and appropriate! I hope to recover my 60-70's CD's. I Will. Chilling 3 fat Buds for the job. Black cloud...
CD's won't eject
Does the dash fascia have to be removed first? Any hints on how that is done? Looks like perhaps the console has to come out first.
Thanks MC
Any thoughts on how to get CD's to eject? Have tried the 'Force Eject" pushing Power and Eject buttons simultaneously for 10 secs. Only a gear slipping noise.
Have tried the sticky tape on long thin item but no luck. Not sure if stored discs are above or below slot. I think below.
Anyone...
Key Fob Number
On my Fobs on the bottom End is a tiny 1 or 2. I believe that may be the Fob Number indicator.
For some reason, the #2 is cheaper from GM than the #1 Fob.
Tires
Randy:
You may want to check into Tire availability before you get your new wheels. The 18" Good~Year run-flats I have are no longer available along with many other XLR parts. There may still be other manufacturers that make them. A big discussion on tires was in this forum a couple...
C6 Wheels on XLR
Hi.
I have what I have been told are C6 Spyder wheels (18") on my 08 XLR. I tried to load a close up but I don't find the drag and drop user friendly.
I have had lots of great comments on the wheels, no issues with Good~Year run flats.
Regards
Gord.

Sticker stuff
I believe that if it was actually delivered in Canada the Maximum MPH would show less than a US model (260 MPH) on the Bvlgari.
The Dealer if Canadian no doubt paid in U$.
Door release button
I suggest trying to fish it back thru the hole if possible for examination before pulling the door panel if possible. It must have broken a plastic clip or two when it went inward. There is likely a fault with the switch or someone would not have pressed it to the breaking...
YIKES!!! Ok, I have the in/lb's torque wrench, trim removal tool and will procure the 28 bottle case of 5% Budweiser. (My reply was 2 Buds).
I don't know which is pin 1 or 3, perhaps it is embossed on the switch and I should get continuity between them while pressing the switch.
I do hear the...
Shock Clamp danger
I would NEVER use a Shock Clamp. The set screw will damage the surface of the rod and tear out the seal. I cannot imagine any one even making this.
I split a length of the new plastic tubing used for plumbing houses on a table saw (1/8" blade), chamfered the ends a bit and...
For those of you who park your XLR's for the Winter Months, this may be of interest.
If you already have a pricey Battery Tender, don't bother reading further.
I use a 12VDC 3-500 ma (1/2 Amp or less) to maintain batteries of cars in storage. It worked for decades with previous Corvettes. I...
