LOST... Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

The alarm can go off on ANY XLR if it is armed and you have opened the door using the emergency dead battery procedure, since the door was opened without using the key fob. I had it happen to me, and I assure everyone my XLR has the standard theft deterrent system. If the alarm goes off when you...

    Top Re-Learn Malfunction.....Up A Creek?

Forgive me if this has been answered in the past. i searched many threads, and have not seen this problem before. Top was working fine on my 2004. But it would get a bit out of whack every year or two. Top would work as it should up and down, but slowly the trunk lid would stall and I'd have to...

Help! How do I remove the battery?

You're WAY more likely to scratch or damage the engine cover removing it unnecessarily than leaving it on when swapping out the battery. I would be SHOCKED if anyone in the history of putting new batteries in an XLR ever damaged their engine cover as a result.

Help! How do I remove the battery?

For future viewers: There is no need to remove the engine cover as mentioned in this thread. Just disconnect the cables, loosen the battery hold down clamp, remove/replace/reconnect the battery....and tighten down the hold-down clamp. The engine cover has nothing to do with this procedure.

    Will 04 6 CD Player work in a 07

Why? Functional originality. XLR's are already being entered in car shows, and that will more than likely increase as the years go by. The Cadillac/LaSalle Club awards for originality. So that might be one reason. A car is more valuable as a collector car the more original it is. My 1976...

It would be a lot less of a hassle to disconnect the under-hood light than the battery.

    Vetronix Tech 2

Thank you, CC. I found a Vetronix Tech-2 on Amazon, so I have a money back guarantee. Got a Shop manual on eBay, and am ready to roll when the time comes. As you know, with an XLR...it's not IF....it's WHEN. ;)

    Vetronix Tech 2

Back to the topic. Can this Vetronix Tech 2 do a VIN relearn for replacing the navigation/radio/cd player? Is this Tech 2 knockoff any good without the $365 shop manual? Or do I need to drop nearly a Grand getting both?
