Hood Struts
I have a 2008 with 47,000 miles. I now need to replace the hood struts a second time. I drive in Honolulu, so cold is not an issue. Thank you SanDiegoXLR for the O'Reilly tip. I will be there tomorrow. In my experience, a lot of GM accessory parts are junk.
I can customize the look of a cheap cell phone, but not a $70,000 (new) car. One of the reasons GM went belly-up. The GPS navigation system does not work here in Hawaii, or Alaska either. If I can find someone who knows how to do it, I will put in an after-market unit.
I am really puzzled by this wind restrictor thing. Isn't one of the joys of riding with the top down to feel the wind whirling by, smell the flowers, and all that? If you are worried about your hairdo, why not wear a hat?
I saw the iPod interface on Amazon.com for $124.80. Reading the Amazon customer reviews, it seems to work like the Lockpick that I have.

With the hard top up, and the wind restricter in place, is there a visibility problem at night. For instance glare or a halo effect due to light passing through the rear window and then the wind restrictor (or other plexiglass wind blocker)?
I would love to learn which make and model worked for you. I am in Honolulu and there is no XM satellite coverage here. I looked at the Neucleus application guide, but there is no mention of the XLR, only the CTS and Escalade.
