You can use a regular floor jack to lift the car once you get some of the round pucks that attach to the body. About the size of a hockey puck. This keeps the floor jack from contacting damaging the body rail. Some of the corvette guys sell them and you can usually get them on ebay.
James,
About 10-12" just high enough to crawl under as rexster mentioned. This is how easy the fix is minus maneuvering around the exhaust pipe.
Here is a link to the procedure. YouTube
Hi XLR fans. I was backing my car out of the drive way and low and behold as I started to shift into Drive, the cable let go. With the car stuck in reverse, I maneuvered it back into the driveway, shut it off and set the parking brake as I had to get to work and had no time to waste. Fearing...
My parts book is out of date, but I think this is the number 15911603, so verify before you buy. I got a good used one on ebay just search for 05-12 C6 rearview mirror. There's usually 1-2 for sale.
My 2006 XLR did not come with an internal compass window within the rear view mirror like my other cars. Since there are many times I do not use the Nav system but want a quick reference to the cardinal direction, I added a new mirrior to my XLR. Solution, the 05-12 C6 corvette uses the same...

Stella,
Thanks, I wish I could take credit for the procedure, but the corvette guys came up with the idea. Since we have the same base platform it works on the XLR. BLUF, never go anywhere without the emergency key! I still don't know the real reason the battery was completely dead??
I recently found myself in an untenable situation. I was out of state with my 2006 XLR on business and the weather turned cold overnight from 50 degrees the day before to 25 degrees the next day. I went out to the car to run an errand and could not open the door. To my supprise the battery was...
Just a few suggestions:
Go to a Cadillac or Chevrolet dealership that services corvettes and pay to have the car run through diagnostics w/Tech II. A little paid up front now will help you make a decision on whether you can afford repairs and what's required.
Ask the service manager to run a...

Question regarding the vehicle transaction history. Just visited a GM (not Cadillac) dealer today and asked for the above info. Service writer first...
