Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Anybody have experience with 'chips'?

Lots of views and no responses! :dunno:

I had the same kind of response to that question when I joined: my first thought, what could I do to easily improve it! ;) .....and when you google XLR lots of thing come up including those chips!

Apparently, as I have been told, Cadillac did a great job when they tweaked these cars to what they are.

My son (who has lots of experience in new cars) suggested I should take my XLR to a tuner guy: apparently if we overide the factory shift points and immediate throttle lag responses (aka: that fine line between gas mileage requirements and performance) it will be like a new car! :rocker:

Is a Tuner guy somewhat the same as what a Chip does? Please chime in 'experienced' forum members if I am being blonde here! :worship: (yes, I bow to your knowledge and experience!)

My understanding is you do not "chip" these cars, the computer needs to be re-programmed. D3 is a vendor and one of the best known for our cars.
