Battery

at this time I have a Delco battery with a Noco Genius 5 tender all of which seems to work. Reading so much about battery problems I want to be prepared for when I need a new battery. Lots of good info on this site. Thanks all. Hugh

I also have a Noco Genius 5 tender. But the maintainer is far superior over and above. So I am glad I switched and purchased one. You will be too once you decide to go this route,. The support from Griots Garage on their Battery Maintainer is just phenomenal. They will walk you through it if you run into a problem and the customer service from Griot stands behind their product 100%.

Thanks for input. How is it superior ? So far Noco seems to be doing the job. What am I missing ?

I mentioned to the local Cadillac dealer of mine I was using a Noco trickle charger. He insisted it was the wrong kind of charger to use for a storage vehicle.. You would need a Battery Maintainer on an XLR or Allante. It keeps the battery at a even level if it were being used at all times. I opened the door on the XLR the maintainer kicks on automatically . Very sensitive on computer drain, cold weathered areas, it works for you. Griot Garage Customer service sell both units.. They will gladly explain the differences to you when calling..

thank you for that explanation. I will follow up and look into the Groit. At one time I had two Allantes...one 1989 Red and one 1993 Polo Green. Your name suggests you were also an Allante fan. They were fun cars however the XLR out shines them when it is working. Now we got to get rid of the cold and snow so we can enjoy.

Yes, I currently own two 93 Allantes Red and a Polo Green and a 2009 XLR Platinum I just picked up in Tempe Arizona with 20,000 miles Radiant Silver. Every year My wife and I host the Allante XLR Invitational Owners Meet in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Thanks for the link to your get together. It is greatly appreciated.

Sunday I went in the garage ( Heated of course at 68 degrees) and it has been two weeks since I purchased Griot Battery Maintainer when I hooked it up to the battery under the hood. The maintainer automatically clicked on while I was out there to maintain the XLR"s battery to its full power level. Two ours later I went out to and checked on it and the maintainer was in the rest mode., Totally Awesome !
