2005 XLR
I'm looking for an air cleaner box for the right side of my 2005 XLR. If any xlr owner has one or knows where I can get one, I sure would appreciate it.

thanks, Phil

Specifically, what's wrong w/ yours, Phil. Since it's a base, I may be able to help you out. Depends on exactly what part(s) you need.

My lovely wife broke off both plastic parts where you snap it down to lock it in place.

If you have any ideas please let me know...Thanks

OK, Phil, here's where we are. We can all get together and discuss the brain-damaged design of those air boxes. Why they didn't make the weakest part of that clamping arrangement on the top portion, I'll never know. My XLR tech, at Red Nowland, broke the tab off of mine, so don't be too hard on your better half. Thanks to the generosity and above-and-beyond-the-call help of Tyrone (on this forum), I am in the possession of a complete intake system. That's the good news. The bad news is that the only part that's not 100% is the very part you need (BTW, also the only part I needed) which is the bottom of the passenger side air box. Now, the two tabs are intact with this part, the parts your "sweet wife" broke off. The bad news is that part of the tab that is used to attach this part to the car is broken. (Not Tyrone's fault, BTW, but UPS) I'll take a pic' of the part when I return to CO, in a couple of weeks. If it'll work for you, I'll sell you the part for postage (that's all I paid for it). I got mine replaced by the dealer whose tech broke it in the first place. ;)

When I get back to CO, I'll dig out
the parts and take pic's of the bottom of the Passenger side air box and post them here. We're currently in CA, enjoying the superior weather in the desert, but I'll head back to the "cold country" in a coupla weeks. 'Til then, duct tape the two halves together (like I had to do) and wait 'til I can post the pic's. :thumbsup

If that works for you, it's OK w/ me. :)
