Dead battery and Key fobs

Now that I have new battery, it goes down quickly if I don’t keep it plugged into a charger. The only thing different is I have removed the headlight assemblies, the center console cover and the CD changer.

There is a draw on the system somewhere. I assume you are working on the car since you said you have all those items removed. If you have the hood open there is a light on the hood, you can unplug that if you have the hood open for a long time. If your doors or trunk are open the interior lights are on. I you have the ignition on it will draw the battery down. Whenever I work on my cars and have things turned on I always have a battery charger running at the 2 or 15 amp slow charge. just enough to keep the battery from draining. If your battery is draining with everything shut off then just disconnect the battery until you need it plugged in and you have your car reassembled.

I had lights disconnected and charger connected while I worked, but the battery drains significantly overnight with brand new battery.

Well there is definitely a draw on the system somewhere. Just unhook the battery when you are not needing power and once everything is put back together hope the problem is gone. If you need power while working on the car just keep the battery charger hooked up and running on the 10amp charge. That will be sufficient to keep the battery above 12 volts and power anything in the car.

Keep the key fob at least 4' away from car as it keeps the entry system activated when close or in the vehicle.
