Drivers outside mirror

The left outside mirror on my 2004 XLR is going dark. I can barely see the traffic approaching. Any one else had this problem?

I have a similar problem with mine.
Rear view mirror won't darken at all, but driver outside mirror goes black all the time.
Did you find a solution?

I replaced my inside rear view mirror because the ball and socket wouldn't hold it in alignment any more, and as soon as I would start the car, both the inside center and the left outside mirror would dim. Didn't matter if the lights were on or off or if it was day or night. I unplugged the inside mirror. Problem "solved."
