Have a 2004 XLR. Having issues with the fuel gauge . Has anyone had problems with the dual fuel pumps or flow sensors? Our gauge is reading a 1/4 tank off. Best advice for repair?

This topic has been thoroughly discussed, I would suggest that you try a search as this is a common issue between Corvettes (C5s and C6s) and XLRs as they have the same dual tank fuel system. In short, put a can of Chevron Techron (no substitutes) in your next fill up and the next 2 or 3. It is important to do while filling the tank as this ensures it gets in both right and left tanks. Here is a link to one of the discussions. There is a diagram of the entire fuel system in the Knowledge Base section of this forum.

If nothing fixes your gauge problem and if can’t do this repair and don’t have aftermarket warranty, prepare to fill your bank account if you wish to do this repair. The problem is in order to get to the 2 tanks to repair they need to drop the whole rear end and most of rear exhaust to get to the tanks! Don’t remember exact number but was over 2 grand total! Best of luck!
