There is this rattle....like dimes bouncing in a pie tin when I start my car. It creeps up and gets pretty obnoxious. It only occurs for the first 20 seconds or so. It is in the exhaust tips.. the baffles I believe. After I bought the car some four years ago I realized that it seemed loud. The previous owner has put two vaccum valves in the vacuum lines that go to the left and right baffe door vaccuum dash pots. Once I turned the valves either off or on, the car quieted right down. BUT I got that rattle ...until it warms up or maybe it is until there is a build up of vacuum.
Any ideas on what is worn out or what could be causing that rattle sound? It is so annoying and loud I immediately put the car in drive after start up, if it is cold and I am in public.
