I have a 2004 XLR that was my dad's. I keep seeing a "base" model online but this is Light Platinum Metallic with black leather interior and wood trim. He had a Strut grill and Corsa exhaust installed at the dealership. It is garaged, super clean and in excellent condition. And to top it off, it only has 15000 miles on it. I live in the SF-Bay Area in CA. I've seen big swings in pricing on the web and wondered if the enthusiasts here could weigh in on what this beauty would go for.

thanks in advance,
ohillary

When I bought my XLR, I used Edmunds.com. Their private party pricing are usually on the low side. Another option is kbb.com, they are usually on the high side. I negotiated a price halfway between. Here is a link to Edmunds.com pricing for a 2004.
2004 Cadillac XLR Convertible Base What's it Worth?

Before selling it, take it to a Cadillac dealer who has a Certified XLR technician (not every dealer has one) and make sure the folding top works. Good luck. Make sure you change the mileage to 15,000 and condition to outstanding on Edmunds. The Private sale came up $18,900 when I looked at it.

Thanks "nerkpowers". Already took it through the KBB filters, will try Edmunds as well. Zip code is another vaiable that seems to affect price.

I think another valuable resource is Auto Trader or Cars.com It seems like the Dealers are asking for much higher prices than what Edmunds or KBB is showing. The car has been well taken care of and it is a rare car. Good luck.

i think you can ask a premium. its springtime, your in SF, its got the corsa and the grill, it s mint condition.
an XLR like that dont come along every day. people search all over the country for xlr's.
does everything work?
can you get the service history from the dealer? they will give it to you if you ask.
can you provide the carfax?
if you dont get any bites in a month lower the price.
look at cars.com
tons of examples of what people are asking for the XLR.

if i were you i would put a price between 30,000 to 35,000. but if I were you i would keep it and I would enjoy what your father has left you
