Hello,
The interior lights (those under the rear view mirror) stay on after I close the door and even after I lock using the FOB. They seem to stay on for 10 minutes or so. Any way to change setting? I would like them to turn off when I lock the car. I can't find info anywhere.

Which leads to a battery question: need a new one as this one seems to drain easily. Any recommendations for a replacement?

thanks in advance,
o

I had the same problem & if I remember correctly, it was fixed by pushing a button to the right of the gauge cluster that had a light symbol on it.

As for the battery question, that's a well debated issue on here & there are several threads. Do a quick search & you'll find them - I would give you a link but I'm on a not so user friendly device for doing that.

Welcom o,

Just take your car to Sears and have them replace your battery with their Premium Diehard. Just make sure they hook up their portable power source to your system before disconnecting your old battery.
Then make sure the mirror rocker switch on your driver's door is always in the center because it's been found to always draw current from the battery.
Final suggestion, buy a "Battery Tender Plus" and hook it up whenever your cars going to sit for a while.

First time I've heard of this. Your basis for this is...?

It was mentioned by someone in Lola's mom's thread about her Dead Battery - Again.

As soon as I am able to clear my driveway so I can get my XLR out of the garage, I'll put a Current Meter in series with the switch and verify whether this is true or not.

I'll get back to you on this thread ASAP.

Here are a couple of the battery & battery tender threads I was talking about:

https://www.xlr-net.com/forums/care-maintenance/6196-dead-battery-again.html

https://www.xlr-net.com/forums/cadillac-xlr-technical-discussion/4125-optima-battery.html

I have an Optima in mine now. Because these cars can get really loopy when the battery starts going, I replaced mine at the 3 year mark before it was showing any problems. For me, it was "better safe than sorry" over whatever bucks I would save waiting longer.

Bulb Number for the map light bulbs in the interior rear view mirror

Can't find a reference to the bulb number for the map light bulbs in the bottom of the interior mirror. Anyone out there have a reference?

Thanks in advance,
