Mute and audio input

The previous owner of my car had a Parrot CK-3100 installed for hand free Bluetooth phone. The problem is that they installed a very small speaker in the A pillar. The volume is terrible, to the point of being unusable.

I am researching my options and other than a total audio replacement, which looses some functions, I am wondering if there is any way to jump in between the onstar and the audio unit? The parrot does have a mute output and audio out.

Any ideas where to find electrical schematics?

The previous owner also had a K40 radar detector installed, which I will be removing ASAP. It is useless compared to my 9500ix. In my other vehicles I use a mirror mount and get power from the mirror. I would like to do the same if anyone can tell me where I can get switched power in the mirror. The escort is low power.

Nevermind, I just took a close look at the mirror. I need to come up with a plan B for mounting a detector. Built in may be required.

Thanks ccclarke,

Has anyone every used one of these? Is the XLR mirror mounting the same as a C6 'vette?

A lockpick would be good for that. It has a audio in that is switched on by hitting the Xm button twice. Works great for iPod input too.

I may be wrong but I don't believe a lockpick would mute the music source
on an incoming call like the Onstar does. This is important to me. Thanks for the thought.

I have found the line level audio input to the amp but am still researching the mute signal connection.

Have you received the product yet and did it install the same as the Vette?
I did receive and install it. It works great and tech support was great too.

The wire colors are different than a Corvette, put the pins are the same.

A plastic piece is used on the 'Vette next to the windshield that did not fit on mine. I left it out without problems. Tech support explained that it is used to pre-load the foam piece on the mount to prevent vibration. An XLR mirror may be a bit different and closer to the windshield, I can't say for sure. I have no vibration without it with my Escort 9500ix. Highly recommended.
