Power Steering Rack

I was told today that I need to eventually replace the power steering rack in my car. The passenger side boot has developed a small leak (at this time), the dealer quoted me a price of about $2100.00 - $2200.00 for the repair. here is a breakdown of the costs, part#19330115 SL-R- re-manufactured gear @$999.00 ($150.00 core), part#149287401 N- Cleaner (2) $8.76, Part#19329448 N-Fluid (2) 2$11.90, Part#10346010 SL-N-Hose , @$77.98, part#12598023 SL-N-Tensioner @$71.82. They have bench marked the labor to be 7.7 hours @ $99.00 per hour. Found all the needed parts at gmpartsdirect.com, thier cost is 47% lower than the dealers quoted prices. Needless to say that I will be purchasing the parts myself with the help of the tech, and have the dealership just do the labor.
