Hard top giving trouble...The top goes down fine. However, when putting the top back up, the top stops at the last section. If I move the control to down position and up and down a few times, then finally the top will finish going back up. Mechanic replaced the sensor but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

Which sensor? Was a top re-learn performed afterward?

RETRACTABLE HARD TOP

They replaced 4 of the sensors. When he manually put the top up and down and then sent it to the computer, he did NOT get a beep indicating that all functions were complete. His computer reads that the sensors are okay.

There are three position sensors and a few (open/shut indication) switches. If he replaced a bunch of parts and didn't successfully complete a relearn, the old (out-of-tolerance) position data is still resident in the FTCM RAM. The FTCM will not command the top to operate since it doesn't have known (good) sensor position parameters to reference to. If the mechanic isn't a Certified XLR Tech, you will likely continue to pay for his training.

Was a full diagnostic run on the FTCM? If not, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
