My XLR/V(s)
2007 XLR MARY KAY LIMITED EDITION
I own 2007 VIN 272. It shows in the registry to be a black V. My car is well documented with 2 personally known owners. I have owned it for over 10 years and is not a V. Recent CARFAX shows correct history against the 2007 272 VIN. What am I missing and how do I proceed to register my car? Thanks for the guidance! Bob

Hi Bob. I built the Registry here on the XLR Net. It's possible that I may have made a mistake. Can you provide here or private message me the last 8 digits of your VIN?

Thanks for the reply, Rob. The last eight digits are: 75601272. This should have been built as a light cashmere car with ebony interior. It is a MARY KAY special order and was painted MARY KAY pearl pink before delivery.

So, your XLR is #1272, not #272. If you look at #1272, you'll see that it is registered to you.

Is it still mary k color. Several have posted that mary kay says you have to change the color when they sell them and that it was not paint but a wrap. Id love to hear as i owned a mark k buick one time. It was pink.

Yes. 1272 is still Mary Kay Pink as it was painted in the Texas facility it was shipped to after production. Tomorrow, April 18 is it's 19th birthday. None, never, ever Pink MARY KAY cars were ever wrapped except; several new models that were wrapped for a short period of time for display in Dallas prior to being available from the factory or, through the secondary painting process. Those wrapped cars were never given to the Mary Kay sales force. Only the XLRs and Escalades receive the secondary MARY KAY Pink repaint. All other versions of MARY KAY Pink cars are GM special paint code colors, finished directly in the factory process, usually in balk orders once or twice a year. There is no title requirement or official contract with Mary Kay that Pink cars which were bought from Mary Kay by independent consultants, directors or national sales directors to repaint the car prior to private sale. As of 2023, no Pink cars have been or will ever be sold after the 2 or 3 years of use by Mary Kay sales folks. All Pink cars will be returned to their original color before being wholesaled. My wife has earned 14 Pink Caddys, 6 of which are Escalades.

Very interesting. Thank you for the information. I k ow one mary kay xle totaled in adheville during the flood recently. I think it went out of the country.Aboit 10-12 years ago i worked in a body shop for the caddy dealer in tampa and we had a new escalade that was wrecked. It was wrapped as we got the vynal from i think 3m . we replaced fender and hood which were factory pearll white and wrapped in mary kay colors. We had to paint factory pearl white then wrap . maybe it was a fake.
