I don't know if the v has this problem. But about a yr ago i had "a trunk leak". So after taking the car back and forth to the dealer 3 x. The figured out (after putting a small guy in the trunk) that the weatherstrip had gone bad. (Well atleast had small holes in it or something). So $1100 later and some extra sealant, my baby was fixed. So i still (after a heavy down pour) check the inside to make sure i have no water issues.
Welcome to the XLR-Net!
Lots of good info available here.
If you enjoy driving your XLR, imagine how much fun you would have on one of our XLR trips!

A great way to meet others who love their XLRs and have fun. Check out some of the threads from past rips to places like Asheville NC, Charleston SC and Bowling Green KY.

Welcome to the club. You have great taste on not only selecting the right model year but the color as well. Hint Hint. How many miles on your dream car? How long have you been searching? Spring can't come fast enough. So many miles to drive with so little time remaining. Yea, another senior citizen that pulled the trigger in Nov'14.
lOVE THAT CRIMSON PEARL COLOR...! THINKING ABOUT THE BOWLING GREEN TOUR. THANKS.
At this point in my journey...not sure at all. My Cadillac dealership says it is a V....the badges are suggestive, wheels and brakes are consistent, I see no V indications on the instrument cluster, the Super badges are AWOL, The seats restrain lateral movement with Alcantra, the trim is Zingaro, the engine carries a badge, and I am about to run the numbers through Bowling Green. That said...we will find out. BTW...great doors...never saw the V badge under the Super badge like that. ALSO...you can leave the dog with me anytime. Got a 100 lb white German Shepherd that has the run of the house except for U know where.Welcome.
All V models came from the factory with the "SUPERCHARGED" badging on the doors. Some people prefer the look without it and remove them. Not a big deal and certainly not worth worrying about.

It's what's under the hood, and the other V features, that matter. Are you sure it is a V?
yep...red can be the best of colors, and the worst of colors.....they got it right on the XLRs..!See, all the fast red XLR's have welcomed you as a fellow esteemed red owner! The silver/black/white slow ones haven't caught up yet!
Anyway, welcome & enjoy!
(if you work through the forum you'll understand red XLR's are the fastest!)

You definitely should have V badges on the instrument cluster - pretty hard to debadge that - but the ultimate test is does your engine look this, if so it pretty much has to be a V:

This is what a base engine looks like: 2006 Cadillac XLR - Infrared - Cadillac XLR Net Photo Gallery - Cadillac XLR | XLR-V Photos | Pics
For XLR Models 06-07, the red color was Infrared (Red Jewel). Crimson Red was for XLRs from 04-05. Have you determined which model you have?
