Welcome to the club. You have great taste on not only selecting the right model year but the color as well. Hint Hint. How many miles on your dream car? How long have you been searching? Spring can't come fast enough. So many miles to drive with so little time remaining. Yeah, another senior citizen that pulled the trigger in Nov'14.

I don't know if the v has this problem. But about a yr ago i had "a trunk leak". So after taking the car back and forth to the dealer 3 x. The figured out (after putting a small guy in the trunk) that the weatherstrip had gone bad. (Well atleast had small holes in it or something). So $1100 later and some extra sealant, my baby was fixed. So i still (after a heavy down pour) check the inside to make sure i have no water issues.

06 TRUNK LEAK...HOLD ONTO THAT SMALL GUY.

I NEED HIM TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY 06 V CAME WITHOUT THE "SUPERCHARGED" LETTERING BY THE SIDE BADGES. IT WAS SOLD AS A SUPERCHARGED V. I'M NOT A DETECTIVE...MAYBE I NEED SOME LESSONS.

A MILITARY SALUTE TO YOU. HAPPY NEW YEAR. 37,000 MILES ON HER PER THE ODOMETER. WORRIED AS TO WHY THE SUPERCHARGED LETTERING IS AWOL. BEEN LOOKING FOR A YEAR.

Welcome.

All V models came from the factory with the "SUPERCHARGED" badging on the doors. Some people prefer the look without it and remove them. Not a big deal and certainly not worth worrying about.

My doors: 2014_05_12--18_04_573713.jpg2014_05_02--11_04_123695.jpg

It's what's under the hood, and the other V features, that matter. Are you sure it is a V?

See, all the fast red XLR's have welcomed you as a fellow esteemed red owner! The silver/black/white slow ones haven't caught up yet!

Anyway, welcome & enjoy!

(if you work through the forum you'll understand red XLR's are the fastest!)

At this point in my journey...not sure at all. My Cadillac dealership says it is a V....the badges are suggestive, wheels and brakes are consistent, I see no V indications on the instrument cluster, the Super badges are AWOL, The seats restrain lateral movement with Alcantra, the trim is Zingaro, the engine carries a badge, and I am about to run the numbers through Bowling Green. That said...we will find out. BTW...great doors...never saw the V badge under the Super badge like that. ALSO...you can leave the dog with me anytime. Got a 100 lb white German Shepherd that has the run of the house except for U know where.

You definitely should have V badges on the instrument cluster - pretty hard to debadge that - but the ultimate test is does your engine look this, if so it pretty much has to be a V:

This is what a base engine looks like: 2006 Cadillac XLR - Infrared - Cadillac XLR Net Photo Gallery - Cadillac XLR | XLR-V Photos | Pics

For XLR-V Models 06-07, the red color was Infrared (Red Jewel), in addition Passion Red for the base model in 07. Crimson Pearl was for XLRs from 04-05. Crystal Red from 08-09. 4 shades of Red over 6 years. Have you determined which model you have?

XLR-V 1st 5 digits VIN # are 1G6YX
XLR 1st 5 digits VIN # are 1G6YV

Hey...I have a V...! U just took a load off my mind. Is Victor Cashmere or Shale..? GR8 PICS...!

which model

For XLR Models 06-07, the red color was Infrared (Red Jewel). Crimson Red was for XLRs from 04-05. Have you determined which model you have?

looks like it is a V minus Super badges and cluster V badges. The engine is a V type. Can't wait for spring.

The VIN should start with 1G6YX There should be a V symbol on the tach. Fullscreen capture 8162014 84113 PM.bmp.jpg

My badging is custom paint.

Sadly Luna passed last November. She left behind 6 other fur kids all 135+ pounds. jack.jpg

Victor is all black, inside & out, has all the badges too. To be honest, the pics are the same color/years as ours but I snagged them elsewhere off the forum - not our actual cars. :thumbsup Here's a pic of them -
