Hi all,
When pulling out of my garage in reverse, I come to a complete stop, put it in drive, and now the car is revving a bit before it moves forward.
Today it seemed much worse than it has the last few days- it revved for 2 seconds (like the car was in neutral) and didn't move forward, I put it park, waited a few seconds, back in drive, and it finally moved forward.
Any ideas what is going on?
The car does fine at freeway speeds- no issues in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. It just has issues coming from reverse....kinda like having a worn out clutch on a manual transmission car.
No codes are showing up in the DIC.
It's at 92k miles with the original automatic transmission fluid- so that definitely needs to be changed soon.
However, this seems like a much more serious problem.
Could it be the Transmission Control Module software?
The torque converter?
The transfer case?
A loose wire or sensor? (like the real wheel sensor for the ABS)
Electronic solenoid?
The main guy at the Corvette shop I go just had open heart surgery....so he can't take a look at it for a while. I'm a bit nervous I'm causing more damage by driving it, so might just take it to the local Cadillac dealership to get a diagnosis (but I don't really trust them after how they have ripped me off in the past).
