All GM Warranty safety recalls have been done

Car fax report shows:
3/26/11 - 68234 miles - Had an accident and was deemed a total loss by the insurance company due to of the cost of replacing the rear body tub because of a couple small cracks

10/31/11 - 69127 miles - The car was repaired, inspected and given a new clean title.

I purchased the vehicle with a clean unbranded Illinois title in the previous owners name. The previous owner was a Restoration specialist who took apart the repair that was done by the previous owners to make sure it was done correctly. It was not a bad repair, but he wanted to make sure it was perfect. All the damage was limited to the left rear quarter panel and the area behind it. The damage made the vehicle a total loss because the main rear fiberglass body tub had some small cracks in it where it got hit. To replace those parts is a labor-intensive job and put the repair of the car over the limit so it was declared a total loss due to the cost of replacing the rear body tub. Structurally these parts were fine, so the rear quarter panel was reset and the left fender, left door and left quarter panel were repainted so all the paint matches perfectly. This XLR looks like very good now, with only a few chips normally seen in a 15 year old car.

Items still needing to be addressed:

  • Passenger seat rail cover is broke
  • The left taillight has a tiny chip on the tip of the lens
  • The headlights have the common issue of the discolored DRL lenses (there is a shop in GA that repairs these)
  • Both seats have some wear on them
  • The cruise control radar unit is not functional, needs replaced
  • The front grill has a few rock chips in it
  • There is a small tear in the driver's side loop and top cover right behind the headrest
