Thanks Cubby, I have driven the car over 400 miles, with no problems, BUT I have not moved/adjusted the steering column. So I think that you are correct. I haven't had the time to further troubleshoot...maybe next week. I'll post the (hopefully good) results.

Claude Nolan Cadillac now has the car...took it to them this morning. They provided an Enterprise Rental car as a loaner. Once the roof is fixed, they will diagnose the engine oil leak, at my cost.

No. Due to having to address other problems (see my recent thread on the roof panel separating), this problem went farther down on the list. I disabled the driver memory controls, so they remain in position until I manually select and move them.

Yes, I plan to make it as serious as it is!!! I'll post all that I find out... I am the second owner, and the car has only 89K miles...very disappointing to say the least!
