Well, the cause of the problem has been found.
I got the trunk opened, and found the magnetic ride control and folding top modules soaking in about six inches of water, literally. I cleared the drain tube and the water poured out.
Although I'm not happy that it may cost me some money to...
The battery was replaced last fall. I wish it was the battery.
I know that I'll have to get it to Cadillac and have the codes checked out to get the final answer. But I would really like to have an idea as to what the cause may be beforehand.
Since I'm not too far from you, do you any...
The "Service Ride Control" "Do Not Exceed 80 MPH" warning came on and the electronic ride control system has disabled all four shocks (as it is designed to do). It sure provides for an interesting ride. I feel like I'm driving an old Lincoln Town Car. The XLR almost floats.
At the same...
Stored in a dry, clean, but cold garage, uncovered, with a tender. I run it every couple of weeks and back it out of the garage. I would take it out if the roads were salt free, but they're not right now here in northeastern Ohio, so it will stay in until the salt's gone.
Heading north to the eastern suburbs of Cleveland on one of the days to visit family and swim with our six kids in my sister's pool. (And I'm still trying to figure out a way to fit all eight of us into the XLR.) Staying home on the other day to swim in our lake, grill out, and drink a Molsons...
I have not lost faith in the American automobile manufacturers. If I was going to, it would have been back before the '80's when the quality was truly poor. The quality was so poor I gave up and bought my first Japanese car in 1988 and bought three more foreign cars after that. But foreign...
Thank you Bruce for the holiday wishes. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and everyone on the site! It's my favorite time of year, with the exception of the weather that is, being not very "green" here in Green, Ohio right now. At least we have not had much snow yet.
Our families...
One more note on the SRX. If you don't already know, the SRX had (or has) two different sized tires on it. The front tires are smaller than the rear. It limits to a certain degree your tire choices when it's time to replace them.
It caused me a minor problem when during preventative...
From your neighbor to the north,
I had a 2005 AWD SRX 6 that I drove all over northeast Ohio. Just sold it this last summer with 40,000 miles on it to one of my family members. Plenty of power. It was great in the snow. No maintenance issues. I didn't realize just how much leg room was in...
Unable to make the fall drive. Other responsibilities sometimes make it difficult to travel too far from home.
But I like what HOMEGAMEROOM suggested on another thread about maybe coming to Ohio someday. It appears that there are several members that live in Ohio or were from Ohio. Truly not a...
Another lamp related question. My right side high beam sticks. After returning the head lights to low beam, the left side returns normally, but the right side remains on high for several minutes, eventually returning to low without any further action on my part.
Any input?
Thanks,
Kevin
Thanks for the suggestions on the tail light.
And to HOMEGAMEROOM, thanks for the offer of help, although after doing the research, I will likely avoid the aggrevation of trying to repair it and just replace the unit. (And I'll be posting another lamp related question regarding the high...
When in brake light mode, my tail light has two dim "bulbs". Typically, when LED lights start to go bad, be it in a building exit sign or a car tail light, the entire unit needs to be replaced to correct the problem.
Is anyone aware of any other way to correct the type of problem I describe...
