Hi everyone,
The battery on my 2005 XLR died unexpectedly this week. Good thing the top was down so it was easy to pop the hood. Had to get the car jump-started, and luckily a $110 battery from PepBoys has me back on the road again.
I'm surprised the original Delco battery lasted as long as it...
Thanks Rockster80! I tried a different brand of power steering fluid that was supposed to seal the leak, but it didn't work. I'll try Lucas and see of that does the trick.
Power Steering
Hi there...I've noticed my power steering fluid seems to be leaking too. How much was the total cost for the repairs? I have a 2005, which I heard has a lot of the same parts and problems as the 2004.
I think the book was originally going for $125 or $150 new, which was ridiculous!
Somewhere on this board, I read that the vendor who originally sold the book (who I heard is now out of business) took 2-3 months to ship it.
~$50 is probably still worth it. I'm not sure I'd pay much more than...
Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone has switched out the round exhaust tips on their XLR to a different shape? (e.g. rectangular or square)
It's a little odd to me how squared-off and futuristic the overall design of the car is, and then it has 4 round standard exhaust tips that don't really seem to...
Hi everyone,
There have been some great deals lately on Amazon for the Cadillac XLR Book by John McCormick. I bought a brand new copy for only $28 the other week!
There are a few used ones listed.
Cheapest one is: $27.32 + $3.99shipping...
Great pics!
Did you replace the rear licence plate and reverse light bulbs?
I started to take it all apart to swap mine out, but there's lots of wires and connections for the top that looked a bit delicate....would hate to break something back there. Wish those bulbs were easier to get to!
You guys had better luck than me....I was told that the offer expired and I'd have to purchase it for $199. I tried e-mailing them, and got the same response.
Hi all.....I turned my wheel to the side, removed the 3 trim clips, pulled back the wheel well plastic and still couldn't access them. I could feel 2 long bolts (I guess these are for adjusting the HID bulbs), but there's a hard plastic piece stopping me from being able to reach up to get to the...
Hi Tyrone, thanks for the tip!
How did you remove the bulb? Does it snap out from behind? Or does it twist out? Are there any clips holding it in place?
I don't have a jack...so that makes it tough! Could borrow a friend's, but have heard horror stories about messing up the lower side panel. I hear there's some sort of rubber pads used on Corvette's to protect the jackpoint, but another part to have to buy. UGH!! All of this for just for 1 tiny...
