I recently had a leak in the hose and in the resevor of my 2004 XLR.The pump was ok but had to be replaced because of faulty engineering by GM.the replacement houses would not fit the old pump since GM had reengineered the pump and the conecetors on the hoses were different, they also reengineered the resevoir and made it a round celinder instead of rectangular, all of this cost me far more than necessary, if they had only had orginal replacement parts. A word to the wise if you have to have your 2004 power sterring repared you cannot find orignal parts.

Power Steering

Hi there...I've noticed my power steering fluid seems to be leaking too. How much was the total cost for the repairs? I have a 2005, which I heard has a lot of the same parts and problems as the 2004.

I had a small leak and noisy pump on my 06, just wet no drips. I sucked as much fluid out as I could and added Lucas Power steering stop leak to top off the reservoir and it fixed both the noise and the leak.

Thanks Rockster80! I tried a different brand of power steering fluid that was supposed to seal the leak, but it didn't work. I'll try Lucas and see of that does the trick.
