    Run flat tires

My apologies in advance for piggy-backing this thread, but it is in the ball park... I'm on the cusp of adding new rubber and am seeking final assurance that running 255/40/19's (rear stock size for V's) on the front as well will cause me no future issues relative to rubbing, cornering...

    XLR decklid liner, part #19169562

I'd like a digital copy of any related design available, or submitted and created, please. jeffcowart55@gmail.com Thanks!!

    trunk leak

There is a Service Bulletin out on this, but don't have the date or code available now. I quizzed my local dealer and he had the "fix" performed at no charge to me. It basically consisted of affixing a flat-ish weather stripping across the back and back sides of the trunk lid. I had experienced...

    Valet switch

I remember when we were leaving our "valet event" I went to open the trunk via the under-lid lift button and it wouldn't budge. Only then did I remember that I had set the valet switch to "On". I never tried the key fob, but just unlocked the glove box and flipped the switch. A few minutes...

    New to the XLR Net

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new acquisition! A wealth of information exists here and some pretty knowledgeable folks, too.

    Four, (4) Lifting pucks

This is one of those "been meaning to" items for me, and has been for awhile. This thread, and Kevin's link, has prompted me to take action. I, too, like the plug-in/leave-in aspect of the SCP offering, as my compartmental space aboard is exceedingly limited. Thanks!

    Baffle issue (Mild-to-Wild)

Just an update... the new exhaust control module appears to have rectified the issue with my M2W. Now I'm back to where I can CHOOSE when I want to go wild ; ) As a side note... I checked several online sources and GM Wholesale Direct out of NC had the best price AND shipping cost.

    Lower grill access

Thanks, Stella. I figured the lower route would be more accessible. I'll crawl under this weekend & see what must be done to get where I need to be.

    Lower grill access

Question for anyone who might have been here before (lower mesh grill): I have a "V" logo that mounts through the mesh that I'd like to install on the face of my lower grill. A cursory survey revealed that it is all boxed in under there. Would access be best accomplished from below or via the...

    Baffle issue (Mild-to-Wild)

As a partial update... My tech guy and I did some troubleshooting Saturday morning and it appears that my electronic control module has a bad relay. Both the solenoid and the M2W unit appear to be okay. We have the baffles closed now and that is where I want them until I desire otherwise (ie...

Vehicles that you have owned for a LONG time!

Purchased my '55 Chevy Belair Sport Coupe in November, 1974. First official car of my own, and she was one year older than me. I must admit that she was in various states of condition up until the mid-90's when I did a body-off-chassis project and restored her to pretty good shape. Simply...

    Baffle issue (Mild-to-Wild)

Emailed the source yesterday (nakidparts.com) and received a reply: He recommended removing the M2W unit to see if that corrected the "baffles open at start" issue. Said if conditition persisted that I might have an air leak somewhere or some type of solenoid issue. If that were the case...

    Baffle issue (Mild-to-Wild)

Thanks, guys... I've slept since install, but I don't recall having any "preferences"... simply on or off via the remote. Perhaps I should revisit the install process, and I have noted a couple of low battery incidents during the cold or during open door/trunk work sessions. This may have...

    Baffle issue (Mild-to-Wild)

I've had a Mild-to-Wild unit installed for almost 3 years now. Recently the remote has failed to control the baffles, however the LED continues to illuminate when the button is pressed. I will change the battery and see what happens. The curious thing is that when I crank the car now the...

    New Guy from Fremont Calif.

Congrats on your new ride! Very nice looking and I'll bet you'll love your investment for a long time. Black is a difficult color to keep, but, in MY opinion, no other color comes close to embracing and enhancing the design of this car. Have fun!!

    Painted vs. Polished stock wheels

That makes sense, Stella. The powder coating is the difference for the V's. Both are clear-coated for final touch. I reckon...

    Painted vs. Polished stock wheels

Upon further review it appears the Base XLR's are listed as polished and the V's are painted. Hmmm...

    Painted vs. Polished stock wheels

Thanks... that's what I thought they all were. I think mine are listed as painted for some reason :dunno:

    Painted vs. Polished stock wheels

The registry lists some cars with painted wheels and others with polished. I understand the chrome conversions, but did both painted and polished come stock depending on the vehicle? What's the difference? Thanks!
