Looking at 2006 xlr any suggestions?

I purchased my XLR-V at a Lexus dealer across the street from the Cadillac dealer which sold the car new to the first owner. I priced out the GMPP just to see where it would come in, but in the end I got a $0 deductible, 4 year, 50K Platinum Used Car warranty from Toyota Motor Credit which was...

Looking at 2006 xlr any suggestions?

In the last year, my Cadillac dealer has the retractable top pump and module, the radiator, the cd changer, body control module, both rear shocks and even the hood struts 100% under warranty with no availability issues. And when I had the breaks done I actually found OEM brake calipers on...

Buy a long term, comprehensive, low or no deductible warranty. Then you really don't have to worry about the inevitable. [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mystery battery drain and transmission line vent cap missing.

It's still at the dealer. They determined that the brand new Odyssey Extreme AGM battery I had installed had a "bad cell" so they can't diagnose the modules until they replace it. When I get it resolved, I'll update the status.

Mystery battery drain and transmission line vent cap missing.

~Thanks all. This is the first I've heard of this. I was able to get the entire service history of my rig before I bought it as the original owner traded it to the Lexus Dealer right across from the Cadillac Dealer he purchased it from. Nothing on there except a few oil changes, a new set of...

Mystery battery drain and transmission line vent cap missing.

Thanks CC- The Service Advisor called today and said they are running a diagnostic test on every single module to try and determine which are malfunctioning. I get an intermittent "Service Traction Control" message followed by hard down-shift between 2nd and 1st. This only occurs after being...

First pics of new WindRestricor! (I can finally drive around with my Stingy Brim NY on!!!)

Absolutely! Without hesitation. I love my Wind Restrictor. I can't imagine anything better (or more cost effective for that matter) at blocking the wind. Add to that the personalization factor and the really wonderful people at King Penn Industries who really provide outstanding pre and post...

Mystery battery drain and transmission line vent cap missing.

So, the Black Beauty is back at Parkway Cadillac tonight. After spending 5 days getting a new radiator, hood struts and hydraulic pump for the convertible top I got her home and all was well for a day or two. Then the battery died. I had a replacement Odyssey Extreme 1200 series battery that...

    Extended Warranty

I purchased my '06 XLR-V from a Lexus dealer in Bakersfield CA. Included in the deal was a $0 deductible 4 Year/50K mile Lexus Platinum Used Car Warranty through Toyota Motor Credit. During my first week with the car the CD Changer went TU which was covered under warranty. Then, last week...

Running lamp bulb replacement BIG $$$$

I found this in the Owners Manual. I don't think my jack is low enough to get under the car to the lift point's. ~

Running lamp bulb replacement BIG $$$$

Thank you both. I'll have a look at it. I don't exactly have the smallest hands, but maybe taking the tire off is a good idea. I'll search the site for a detailed procedure. I appreciate the input. :thumbsup

Running lamp bulb replacement BIG $$$$

So my ride is in for a ton of warranty work this week and I asked my service writer to replace the tiny inboard and outboard lamps in the passenger side array figuring it might be a $50 fix. Yeah, not so much. They called today to confirm and told me the cost to replace those bulbs would be...

Both Lift Cylinders for Hood Shocks Failed?

As it so happens I am having some major warranty work done on my XLR this week and decided to have my failing hood struts replaced at the dealer since they're actually covered under my warranty. :thumbsup So the brand new struts I purchased several months ago from Amazon for $50 are available...

    CD changer repair?

I purchased the car from a Lexus dealer and got a $0 deductible, 4 year/50K mile exclusionary Warranty. It's through Toyota Motor Credit Corp "Platinum Pre-Owned Vehicle" warranty product. So far I've only had the CD changer replaced under warranty and that went through without a problem...

    CD changer repair?

My CD changer went TU as soon as I loaded the second CD into it. I heard an awful "crunching" sound then got the fatal error message. I took it to Cadillac and they replaced it under warranty. It was a $750 part not 2 hours of labor at $135 per. So grateful I insisted on a good warranty.

For those of you with the Volant cold air intake...

Same issue...sort of I had the same codes after installing the Volant CAI and Corsa Kit. It was traced back to the vacuum lines in the stock exhaust that were incorrectly capped by the installer. It cured my CEL but I still get a strange and random code that renders my "StibiliTrac"...

    Help! three beeps

I'm sure this is accurate because when I brought my V in to have the cd changer replaced the tech said he also effected 7 different system updates for everything from the Radio/Navigation to emissions, fuel management, Stabilitrak and security systems. Since the all my "ghosts" have been cast...

    My much admired XLR

Hey Dennis- Congratulations my friend. So glad you pulled the trigger on that V! I can't wait to see it. Lets get together somewhere between us and have an XLR show of two! Also, there's always Friday Nights at Bob's Big Boy here in Toluca Lake!

    Well...I finally pulled the trigger!

The matte finished (painted) wheels were the only available wheels on the V series in '06. I don't believe the chrome wheels became an option until '08. But the car looks a whole lot better riding on chrome wheels....especially in black.😁
