Help! 2006 XLR is creaking?

I want to get this checked out. I've seen this reported here before but didn't have the issue then. I don't want to be told I need a new front end when it's just a lube job. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My 07 is having a lot of creeking from the front end also. I have tracked it down to the front spring adjuster pads rubbing on the lower control arm. If I put a little grease under the pad it goes away for a while.
