Does anyone know the Gates number for the supercharger drive belt? I need one about .75" shorter than stock and am trying to generate the new part number.

TIA

UPDATE:

I think I found it, but could use confirmation if possible. K080424 K080424 is stock so I think I'm looking for K080416.

After 30 years at a Goodyear belt plant....... Their numbering system looks sort of like we used at Goodyear. "K" is the tooth profile. J's are smaller, then K, and then L, a big tooth. The "08", is the number of ribs in the belt. The most standard in cars are 6 ribs. The "0424" is the circumference of the belt down to the tenths of an inch. Hence 42.4 inch around. So your 0416, would be .8 inch shorter. I tried to look at my car's belt tonight. It has the GM stock number (meaningless) and then, 8PK*****, I can't see the rest. Same meaning there, 8 ribs, K section poly-Vee, but can't see the length.

Here a list of the Goodyear belts with the metric sizes: Gatorback® Poly-V Serpentine Belts | Goodyear® Engineered Products

Phrede, what is the reason for the shorter belt? Have you been upgrading?

For a while D3 had made a different ratio intermediate pulley that goes on the front of the power steering pump so you didn't have to go with a smaller pulley on the supercharger. Seemed like a good idea, but if I recall it was over $1K so I decided against it. The bearing in my stock one failed a long time ago and the pulley just about came completely off shredding the belt. I have a replacement belt in the garage so will take a look at it this afternoon.

I just ordered a smaller blower pulley and am getting prepared.

I'm finding that the available belt sizes jump from 41.5" to 42" so it may take some experimenting to get the right fit. Shorter is better, of course.

I have been working some more on a bluetooth audio hook up since my lockpick went out, but not finished yet.

Found a WiFi backup camera to use with the phone and it is on it's way.

So, yep a few things going on this winter.

Did you replace the bearing yourself? I'm thinking about replacing it since I'll have it on the bench anyway. I took a quick look for a part number, but didn't find it yet.

The repair was done under warranty back in 2009. The dealer replaced the power sterling pump and the pulley assembly which included the bearing and bracket. I do recall that I was told the bolt that holds the pulley on is a one time torque to yield type. I found my spare belt, but I ordered it from the dealer and it only has the GM part number on it.
