Help.
Trying to find the hose that connects through the alternator part number. 10304977.
GM discontinued. No one has one. Any help would be appreciated. For XLR 2005.

Google search

I just tried typing GM 10304977 in Google and quite a few sources come up including GM Parts Direct for like around $80.00
Don't know if they actually have it until you order though.
I was actually wondering about that part as I was thinking of changing mine also. I thought it was just a single hose from the radiator to alternator but after seeing the diagram see it is actually an assembly with 2 hoses and a fitting on it.
Doesn't look like a real fun part to change just from looking at that.
Let us know what you find.

Thanks,
Kevin

No luck.

I have contacted all of the gm parts website. Same story part discontinued not available. I am now searching junk yards.

used ones

I just looked and most junk yards seem to cut the hose. I beleive a regular piece of heater hose will work. The fancy double fitting that bolts tot he alternator has clamps on it so you can just install a hose. I will check for size and post

I know this thread is old but did anyone find a solution for this? My hose went bad and was wondering if i can just replace it or do i need the whole assembly...

The Alternator & coolant hoses are a sore spot. There's a mounting plate/bracket on the Alternator which as 2 bent "nipples" on it. These hoses are not attached to the nipples with traditional spring clamps or worm clamps. I don't know if there are annuluses on these nipples. The plate bolts to the Alternator case but it has some sort of special gasket between the Alternator and the plate. Those gaskets are NOT available as separate parts. I don't believe they are included with a replacement Alternator (assuming you can locate a new one). One hose goes from the Alternator to the Radiator. The other hose goes to the Water Pump. The connection at the Radiator is a simple formed nipple. The connection at the Water Pump is another goofy quick connect that also is unavailable. There's a clamp on the hose but it's not a traditional spring clamp or worm clamp. I have no idea of there's an annulus around this nipple either. The metal nipple attaches to the Water Pump with an O-Ring you'll also never find. This nipple requires a special tool to remove. You'll likely destroy the O-Ring if you attempt to remove it and since there are no replacements available you'll have a difficult time improvising.

I'm fairly certain that the hose is simply a 3/8" radiator hose. You should be able to use straight 3/8" radiator hose to replace it but you'll have to pay attention to how & where you route it. You can obtain 3/8" plastic elbows to help with the routing if you can't make the straight hose route where you want it. The difficulty is with the nipples at the Alternator and the Water Pump.

MickeyTee should be able to guide you as to whether you can attach the hoses to the Alternator nipples &/or the Water Pump nipple with traditional hose clamps or if it requires the original pinch style (oetiker) clamps.

If one of your hoses has split or is deteriorating it might be best to try and install a coupler in it instead of trying to remove and replace it. It the hose is leaking at one of the nipples it might be more complicated. If your Alternator has failed ... well ... you may have a more difficult problem to solve.

Good Luck.
