Hey Forum! Great watching the posts and seeing the love for the XLR. I have the highest mileage XLR in my area 152K. Was a daily driver for three years back n forth to Atlanta. Last month, she died while driving. She is at dealer now - they say timing chain broke. For entire life of car we had service done at dealer. I would figure the Cadillac Flagship would last a bit longer. Last problem we had was a misfire on start that would go away. Would run rough for about a minute and then go away. Should we write Regional Service Manager and ask for consideration for engine replacement at their cost? OBTW - the local Cadillac mechanic is a properly trained XLR specialist.

One of our fellow members here is a nice gentleman by the name of Henry. We call him "The Professor". He has over 250K miles on his XLR!

AWESOME!

Totally awesome! That was the reason we originally got ours - to Drive it! We pampered it well and she has gone on many MANY road trips. Kinda miss her already. Am planning on keeping her even if GM does not replace the engine. Its a great ride and once we have the engine replaced/redone (oh and the roof motors adjusted or replaced!) we are still keeping her. Real head-turner even when the Vettes are around!

I bought my '05 about 3 1/2 years ago with 130K - it now has almost 180K on it... I couldn't imagine NOT having an XLR.

As a matter of fact, my XLR is at the dealer today - running rough, loss of power; especially at acceleration. I had a bank of COILS replaced over the summer (same symptons) - wondering if the other bank of coils went bad. Wish I lived closer to Indy (Bruce) - hate having to pay the local dealer the $'s when I could be paying Bruce directly . But I have my XLR going into the Corvette Nationals & Muscle Car show this weekend, here in Chicago - I want to make sure she is spotless and represents our XLR's well. Having her detailed on Thursday.

I bought my XLR to drive too - its the BEST car I have ever owned!!
