The last few times I've opened the locked driver's door from the outside on my 2005 XLR, the chimes sounded continuously and the security light on the dash blinked. Similar to other cars when you open the door with the key still in the ignition, but clearly that is not the case. As soon as I sit down in the seat and close the door, the chimes stop sounding.
I figure there is some kind of relay or sensor that is stuck, but I'm hoping someone here has experienced this before and knows how to correct.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
