DVD Player - Play when Driving

After 4+ years I finally got around to putting a DVD in the player. Not bad. So what does it do when you shift into Drive? It blanks out the screen and keeps playing. Nice. I can play the music concerts that I recorded off the cable system in the car.

No switching bacn n' forth

My CD player isnt working and I need to have it fixed/or replaced, but I too I'm using the DVD player to play my music. Yes. It's limited in that you have to have the car in park to switch out CD and you can't switch back (DVD-XM-DVD)once the car is in motion. I take long 5-hour trips and I start off using the DVD and once I'm tired of that I switch to XM radio.

Can you not apply the hack to get the DVD to play when moving?
