Extra Step to Reboot Onboard Computers

While getting the oil changed yesterday rebooting the car's computers came up and I mentioned our friend, Hans, in Germany who originally alerted us to remove the negative battery cable to solve some of the car's idiosyncrasies. The XLR mechanic said to really do the job completely would be to disconnect both cables and touch them together to drain all the current from the computers.

Worth a try, especially if some problems remain after doing what we've been doing by just disconnecting the neg. terminal.

This procedure does work well.

We have been instructed not to do this on '07 model yrs. and newer.
