My XLR/V(s)
2006 Maroon XLR - SOLD
I am a new XLR owner. I purchased a 2006 base XLR that has a salvage title and had been hit in the left rear fender. The trunk and top worked fine when I bought it, but after cycling it a few times the trunk would no longer open. I can press the trunk release or key fob and the trunk latch unlocks, the trunk will not open and then 5-10 seconds later the latch locks again. When the latch unlocks I can manually lift the trunk and it stays open. I can press the trunk close switch on the trunk lid and it closes without issue. I have no messages on the DIC. The top will not retract as the trunk will not open.

I took all the wheel well carpet out and found a switch on the drivers side that tells the system the trunk is open or closed. This switch was sticking in the trunk open position. When I would ohm it, the switch would show shorted/closed regardless if the tang on the microswitch was in one direction or the other. I had to bend the tang open a little to give it a bigger air gap. I put it all back together and the trunk and top work fine now.
