I don't know much about the viper split but I think the viper is cool, overpriced, and it's a dodge. Probably blows smoke at 30,000 like the rest of their garbage. As for the corvette I hope they never split that's what gives performance to the GM brand. All round it's a bad ass car for the money. I sad that they stopped producing the xlr and v. On the good side I think that this will definitely be a collector some day. Like the article said about resale value yah it's probably right but that's how I was able to afford one of these amazing cars. Depending on models and colors some of these cars are really limited which can only get better. Advice keep the car in great shape, keep the mileage down, and u should have no problems. I love my car if it treats me right I'll keep her forever or I'll trade her in for a vette. Don't tell her I said that though.:chuckle

I wish people who don't own an XLR would quit comparing it to the Chevy Corvette. It IS a Cadillac - it's parent company is GM ..... Anywhere you go in the world, you always here people say 'it rides like a Cadillac' when they are trying to describe luxurious ride and comfort .... Hell, even the President limo is a Cadillac ... not a Chevy. As far as the tech stuff .... that's for you boys to fight about. ;)

I wonder about the collector price. The collector cars were many times fairly mainstream cars used and abuse by many until there weren't many left. These cars are seldom used and abused. Of course they started out, not many left, but they are also not very well known. I would never trade mine in on a vette, and you can tell it I said that lol.

With respect to future collectability - who cares! We own the ultimate cruiser and the last thing we're going to do with it is "park it"! It's bad enough living in Ohio and having to put her away for five months each winter. This glorious machine put the phrase "Sunday drive" back in our vocabulary. Can't tell you the last time the radio was played - rather listen to her purr. We hyper-maintain it so that it will run forever (may Black Beauty someday see 250,000) and our only regret will be that which ever kid inherits her couldn't inherit our memories of all our trips both short and long.

I read that and some of the reply's! Well, I'm not going to say what I really want to say. We sold a Corvette to get our 1st of 7 XLR's and there is NO comparison!!!!!!!!!!!! XLR is far better then Corvette. Don't get me wrong I still like the the Corvette, even thought it now looks like a Mitsubishi from the front to me and I have not kept that secret!!! Comparing Corvette to our wonderful XLR's is like comparing apples to oranges, there is no comparison!!!!!!!!! Just my opinion!!!!!!!
