2005 Silver XLR
I have a 2005 XLR.
The power steering occasionally cuts out. I have to use two hands to manoeuva the car. After it is shut off and left to stand for a little while, everything's working fine again. The fluid and lines all look okay. Has anyone else had this problem the?

The pumps do fail i have new oem ones for sale . But even when they fail the car should not be that hard to steer. The rack and pinion has a power assist built in. At parking lot speeds the pump assist with steering, above 40 mph the pump is bypassed. Above 60-70 the pump is reversed so it adds pressure to make it harder to steer. Id check the plug that goes to the rack and make sure its not filled with oil.
Of course make sure the fluid is full. pumps usually make noise if they are bad
