Hey

OK, I'm still looking for an OEM radio unit, if anyone has one for sale from having done an upgrade. You can PM me .

Anybody know procedure or what is involved in getting the radio unit matched to the car then ??

Can't remember the steps off hand, but you have to have access to a TECH II to pair the radio

If the radio is replaced, perform a VIN Relearn, located in the Special Functions section on the scan tool. Cycle the ignition when complete.

Hey

Thanks Randy. I'm thinking that I will have to stay with a radio that is my car, year specific or newer. Mine is an '06..... In '06 they did that Digital upgrade thing for the On Star. I don't know if the radio is also specific to that , but I want to make sure the On Star continues to function. I'm actually looking for a radio out of an '06 or newer.

I'm at 3 to $350 or so for one. My radio works fine, the display is gone is all. Still have full functionality and can pretty much control it through the HUD It's just a drag. Going to have to have whatever I get programmed to my car. May just end up getting one out of an SRX. Same radio, I think, from what I have seen and cheaper, and programming is programming. Just think an XLR one would be easier and better for transitioning. I am in unfamiliar territory.

I wonder why my post do not show up?? I looked and ebay gets 500-700 for them A couple of knowledgeable dealers say that they all interchange. 04-09 .The problem with that is when GM upgrades something in like 06 or 07 it will work in the older models but the older models do not work in the newer. That is the case with people listing the headlights for 04-09 when they have an 04 or 05 headlight. Those only work in 04 and 05 cars.

Hey

Yes, I was informed they all inter-swap, but was also told to ensure that the radio, if buying, has the CD unit plug . Just want to be able to maintain full functionality including On-Star. I see plenty of Radios at E bay and for decent pricing, however, they are date coded as '05 and '04. I know mine has '06 on it. There is one now at E bay, allegedly new in box, and it is $300. (unknown date) My hesitation is that the navigation buttons to the right are there, but there are no button function indicators (mao rpt, etc.) writing on the bezel

you better buy that one quick. If I find it , I will. I only saw one new one for 1200 , it said you save 300 as its marked down from 1500. I did not even see a used one for parts for as low s 300. Happy searching

Well, I'm cautious. Remember the adage, "If something sounds too good to be true.........."
