Apparently you are low on hydraulic oil that is the medium for moving the rams that make our tops go up and down....I understand that the oil replacement for low or lost oil is not difficult to accomplish, and if you're lucky, some oil is all you need. Perhaps someone else will provide you with more detailed instruction.
lRead your owner's manual to manually raise the top if you don't know how. Do not operate the pump, electrically. If one of your hydraulic lines has cracked or a cylinder is leaking you could have a very expensive mess to deal with. Running the pump could make it worse, and damage the pump if the reservoir level gets too low.
Once you have manually raised the top, inspect the fluid level in the reservoir underneath the cover on the left rear side of the trunk. Youl'll have to pull the rat fur carpet back to see it. The oil level should be between the min/max lines.
If the hydraulic fluid level is low, it has to go somewhere. If you smell oil but don't see any, the leak could be inside the headliner, where it will collect. . . For awhile.. That would be bad. You do not want it attacking any material in the interior. That would be worse.
Report back with the results of your visual inspection and we'll proceed from there.
